Default 17.3" 3D screen replacement

Hello everyone,

It's not very often i post for some help like this. I have a customer who has smashed their laptop screen, this is not an issue normally but this is a 3D screen. I've not had to replace one before and I can't seem to find any in the UK. Does anyone happen to know where I could get one from? I have found one but I am guessing with the price being about £60 this is a none 3D one.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

One could help you if you perhaps included a model number of at least something related.

Yeah I suppose that could help, I just thought it might be useful to more people if I tried to keep it as generic as possible. The model in question is a Samsung RF712 I believe the RF712-S01UK. I do not have the laptop here just yet, the customer will be bringing it in tomorrow but from what I see on the internet it is a 40pin bottom left connection.

But your best option would be to give Require IT a call and see if they have on in stock http://www.requireit.co.uk

Thanks for that PBComputer, That is the one I was refering to in my first post, I am guessing this is not a 3D screen with the price but as always I could be wrong.

I will certainly give Require IT a try, never heard of these guys before so thank you for that

I don't know much about 3D, but I thought it was the graphics card and software that made it 3D and not necessarily the screen. So it could very well be the correct screen.
If so, then you will have one very happy client!

3D works at a refresh rate of 120 hz or more, where as a regular display is typically around 60 hz. The display is just as important, if not equally as important as the graphics unit.

So any LCD (within reason) that is greater than 120Hz can be used as a 3D screen?

Looking over the internet and it does appear that as long as it is 120mHz it should work but if anyone could clarify this it would be great
