Toshiba Satellite. Swapped the Mobo. My non-contact voltage checker is telling me the motherboard is receiving power, cables are triple checked, tried using 2 different AC adapters that I know work fine. Not getting a light saying the cable is even plugged in on the laptop. Nothing. Ideas?

it does happen but try another cpu and memory could be faulty ( should still power tho with these being faulty
Also try the motherboard out the plastics ( could be shorting on abit of metal.) We always have a laptop fully stripped down and all over our bench when we have faults like this. Also if it has a cmos battery leave it out for at least 3or4 hours. We once has a sat pro 660 that came in with no power to find it was the lcd cable from the screen to the motherboard took that out and it powered. Reseated the cable to the motherboard and the screen ( means taking the whole screen apart also) and it started to work (mad but hey sometimes you just dont have an answer for the fix) Hope this helps. Apart from that - you could have another faulty motherboard

Tried swapping the DC jack again. Also tried stripping the parts out. Still nothing. I wonder if it's somewhere between the power button and the board... but there is still no lights coming on from the board... this is really strange.

Have you tried it with both the battery in and out?
If you think it's the switch you can try finding the 5v standby on the board and closing the power circuit. They should both be wired to the switch and close to each other, in the machines I have diagnosed with a bad switch lately I was able to cross them with a precision screwdriver. |

Battery in and out. Couldn't find the 5v standby on this board... It's weird, with every single other cable disconnected from the board other than power, the voltage detector is ringing, but no lights on the board. Bad board? Or is there something further?
