I'm getting stuck on a laptop here..
Acer Aspire ES15 es1-533-p9pv.
Came in a couple of weeks ago, due to freezing.
Diagnosed it as possible drive failure.
Supplied new ssd, cloned drive over.
since then, client complaining it is still freezing.
Also no sound.
Diag's
Heat sink fan not spinning freely, so swapped hsf this morning.
Had a look at the sound issue, updated sound drivers.
nada.
error code of Windows could not start the Windows Audio service on Local computer.
went into services.msc, checked services running on audio.
it was set to auto, attempted to start it, and get another error message
Windows could not start the Windows Audio service on Local Computer. Error 0x8000706: The endpoint is a duplicate
Did a registry export from my machine and import into this one.
nada. still had the same error code.
So thought, may as well do a complete nuke.
backing up the machine, and its still freezing.
no input from mouse / keyboard.
I'm scratching my head on this one.
Any ideas please, mostest welcome :-D
It is looking like a mobo issue, but I'm hesitant to contact client, and say as well as the drive its the motherboard also..
