On a small network with two computers in a residential environment that needs to do simple file sharing (non-critical) ... Simple file sharing meaning setting up a shared folder just so they can have a common location to access common data.
Id share out the folder to the everyone group, then turn off password protected file sharing so I don't have to worry about the user changing their credentials or credentials at all.
Windows 10 keeps flipping password protected file sharing back on nearly every time it updates, which results in a phone call saying "it happened again ..." and access to the shared data folders requires authentication now.
I know this is simple and I feel like an idiot for asking but this is how I've done it in super simple home environments for ease of use.
Am I doing something wrong?
