Antivirus

Glad to see Bitdefender with a high score. I still believe Norton has been slowly getting worse.

Yup....BitDefender, Eset, Kaspersky...enjoying the top 3 seats of 2 of those reviews.

ISCA...never really paid attention to them, they're mostly just pass or fail..and I rarely see failures.

I have been Kaspersky and BitDefender the past few years. For protection and cleaning. Avira is also a secret weapon of mine. Always ClamAV for my *nix servers.

What in the world happened to Norton? They used to be near the top, now AV-comparatives doesn't even test them & PC Magazine gave them 1 star for detection.

I'm very impressed with Bitdefender, it seems like a very good alternative for a free AV. I would like to hear less stories of it's quirkiness though.

Afaik, you have to supply your product to AV comparatives. That's probably why they aren't mentioned.

Opinion has it, that the base Norton AV isn't actually too bad, it's just the packages it's incorporated into are duff.

I've been supplying Bitdefender free on my customers machines lately, and it really is basic.

The biggest problem is the lack of exclusions in the free version, which can be a pain. But it's liked by users because it's essentially a plug and forget thing.

Thank goodness, all my favorite antivirus are still on top. LOL.
