I feel I should know this but it's driving me crazy and I'm not thinking clearly now, so I need some help to regain my sanity.

A friend is having problems when trying to access his ISPs webmail interface. General websurfing is working well but when he goes to log into his webmail, the page sort of 'flashes' a couple of times and then just loads a blank white page with nothing on it. This happens with both IE and Google Chrome that he's got installed, and also with d7's own internal browser, which I must admit surprised me a bit.

The problem is not with the ISP or mail interface because, using his login credentials on my machine, he can log in perfectly well as the attached screenshots show.

I've run TDSS Killer, HitmanPro, MBAM (quick), SAS, JRT and ADWCleaner and nothing much was found.

So what can make three different browsers on the same machine exhibit the same problem? Like I said, I know I should know but.....

Thanks for that Martyn. As it's now not far off 11pm I'll do it tomorrow and see what happens, but I'm not sure that it'll be the answer that I'm looking for because of the fact that my problem is present in Chrome and d7's browser as well as IE.

Turn off any firewall/AV port blocking. Many webmail interfaces rely on web servers running on ports other than normal ones (IIS, apache, etc). He might be blocking the port that is acting as the webmail "server".

I've had two problems recently with talk talk and ie 10. Remove ie10 til they fix it.

Martyn, I owe you my sanity my friend. I don't know how IE10 could affect Chrome and d7's own browser but when I uninstalled IE10 and went back to IE9, the problem went away and now all three browsers can access webmail. What on earth is that all about???

Anyway, it's all working now so both my client and I are happy bunnies - cheers sir! :)

PS - thanks for your input too Jimbo :)

I never checked the other browsers but I've had 2 in the last 2 weeks where they could login to Talktalk but couldn't see any emails.
