A client wanted a couple of rooms created for two conference rooms. Client has two suites in the same building so I made a Conference8 for suite 8 and Conference10 for suite 10. Suite 8 works fine and we can change who can approve or disapprove meetings for Conference8 but when trying to change delegates for Conference10 I get the error message

Booking options update failed
Error:
The operation couldn't be performed because 'Conference10' matches multiple entries.

I can't for the life of me figure this out, I tried changing the Room Name from Conference10 to ConferenceRm10 then I get a different error

I'm trying to keep everything uniform here but I'm just hitting wall after wall and there doesn't seem to be much on google about this.

When I try to change delegate access to automatic in powershell I get the error

When I try to add a room delegate to the room I get the same error message

Any ideas?

I think I found a reference to a mailbox that uses conference10 as an alias in Entra in addition to my room... I'm going to try changing that and give it a day or so for the changes to take effect to see if that changes anything.

Good sleuthing....I'm surprised it let you create the resource of Conference10....if that name was already in use in the directory. Wonder if, when you made them, it appears to be..submitted...but the portal may have been going slow that day (what else is new)..and you didn't see the error that might have come up. But then again, it would not have been avail to show up to even try to make a rez. Hmmm...

Their boots on the ground IT guy (who has since been fired, I'm the background MSP), created a licensed mailbox called Conference (Unit 10) and Conference (Unit 8) and manually (L O L) shared it out to each user (40 total) using delegate full control for the entire mailbox.

Conference (Unit 8) uses the mailbox conference@contoso.com
Conference (Unit 10) uses the mailbox conference10@contoso.com

My room is Conference10 with the mailbox conference.10@contoso.com

So that's what I'm guessing the discrepancy is. If I define conference.10@contoso.com in powershell to add a delegate approval reponder to the room instead of just Conference10 it actually works and the delegate gets added but I don't know how to switch the bubble from Auto-Approval for room reservations to "Select room delegates for approval" in powershell... I haven't been able to find that command. It adds the selected delegate to the list but creates a new bubble called "Used customized setting to accept or decline booking requests"

I renamed both Conference (Unit 8) and Conference (Unit 10) to conferencerm8@contoso.com and conferencerm10@contoso.com respectively.

Probably going to get some backlash on that.

We'll see how long it takes for that to reflect to the point where I can re-attempt room delegate access, as of now it's still a no go and I still get the same error.

Realistically both of those licensed mailboxes should be deleted as they were created as licensed mailboxes with the intent to only use the calendar part of the mailbox as a shared calendar for what is essentially should have been a room resource.

This might be one of those 5-7 day things that need to be processed in the background. I will report back.
