D7II - so confused

The Foolish IT guys are here on the forums alot now it seems. I'm sure one of them will be along to help steer you in the right direction.

I've been using it since the beginning of the new year and I have to say that I love it. Am I a D7II expert? Probably not; however it works for me quite well so don't give up. I suggest you email their support and about default recommended setup and it will be full of tools that you probably didnt know existed. Some of those tools you probably won't use so just tweak it to your needs.

Once you have your config squarred away its mostly just a matter of time really. So don't get discouraged, keep at it!

This program reminds me of Scrapebox a LOT. Totally unintuitive and it takes a while to get the hang of it. But once you've got it, you've got it.

Frankly I used the program for a while, but it's just not worth the yearly pricetag. One time purchase maybe. But it's great for someone that doesn't want to put together their own solution and wants to save time. Stick with it. Only when you learn how to use it properly will you know whether or not it's worth it for your business.

Thanks!

I recently purchased D7II and I'm watching the videos. Holy cow I confused. I feel like one of my customers. The utility appears to be extremely powerful and I'm convinced it's going to help my business.
But the videos don't coincide with the latest version of D7II which makes following the steps difficult. I'm not sure how to use the "dcloud", I don't understand the "Kaetarin" utility. What the heck is niniteone? I'm lost on how and when and where profiles are used.
After struggling with this tool for 3 full evenings I'm so overwhelmed and stressed out. I need a vacation.....ugh

Dcloud allows technicians to share configs and apps, it allows you to save your configs in the cloud and other things.
Ketarin allows you to update all the tools in your d7 folder/stick or wherever you run it from.
Niniteone is a subscription tool from ninite (3rd party) for keeping things like browsers, plugins and other common free apps patched via silent installs. If you are going to use this, learn to use it on its own first.

Ignore all these to start with. Start with going in Main->D7ii Config, go to custom apps, then select "Assign App/Function to Section"

D7ii's greatest power is automating common cleaning, tuneup and repair tasks. Start by adding apps to the "Malware Custom", and "Maint Custom" sections. Add all the tools you prefer to run, and all the maintenance tasks you prefer to do. Put them in the order you want to run things. Save your config and then can start running those tools from d7ii from under the tabs you placed them in by double clicking each app, or by checking the boxes and clicking on "Start Auto Mode".

D7ii will save you time keeping your commonly used tools up to date and help you do repairs faster, but alot of the apps you run with d7ii are third party apps, you really should understand how to use each app on its own before using it with an automation app like d7ii. Please do not take offense, but asking "What is Niniteone" is a bit of a red flag for either a novice computer repair, or a repair tech living in a bubble. But keep reading TN here and you will learn more and more about the tools available to technicians, what is good and what is not.

Thanks stro. Yeah I'm getting the hang of it.
Weird, I've been operating my own business for 13 years and I've never heard of niniteone.
I guess it's better late than never.

Not that daunting one you get to know it.
You can use your own hosting rather than dcloud. Just go through the config tabs one by one to set up or there's a full setup with addons that you can download and just rebrand. Once you've used it and are familiar with it you'll be loving how powerful and useful it is.

Mod Note: I have moved the posts from the duplicated thread into here.
