Barometer reached 43 degrees here today in Melb, Aus (109 in silly American) and 69.8 on the tennis court.

This is when getting out of aircon + hangover. Had an old friend had not seen for over 10 years. One whiskey went down too well.

Sometimes I'm glad Britain has such shitty dreary weather.

Anything above about 25 degrees is way too hot for me. Fortunately, temperatures here rarely get above 20, and when they do it only lasts a week.

Been snowing here lately. Lovely and cool :p

Where I was born and raised and spent the first 43 years of my life was a "lovely and cool" place as well.
It used to rain regularly, snow sometimes and summers were a balmy 33 to 35 at most. There would always be an afternoon storm that would cool it down nicely. There was fresh green grass everywhere, fat cattle and sheep, running rivers and creeks and waterfalls.
When I was invited to "come live in Adelaide" I had no idea (and was too busy to check) things like rainfall, temperature etc.
My first day here was 45 deg and was a hell of a shock after stepping off the plane coming from floods and days of rain. Even though it was January the temperature at "home" was only about 20 deg. That heat flattened me for 3 days!
Everything suffers under the heat, everywhere is brown and dead and the only green is on lawns of people rich enough to pay the very expensive water rates.

Hey guys, come and visit us in the Midwestern states (US) and you will surely cool down! 16 degrees (F) right now with a projected high of 33 (F) later today. We still have a bunch of ice and snow on the ground here, so bring your snow skis and your cold weather gear!

I can't imagine what you(s) are going thru. I do remember a few years back when we had triple-digit summers here in this part of the country.

Take care and do your best to keep cool.

I've got air-con in my loungeroom, but I also have my 15 month old boy roaming around so I have to close my office door. Gets hot in this office real quick with the computer hardware in here.

44.2 in Adelaide today. Supposed to be cooler tomorrow at about 35.
There would be places in the US that would exceed these temps though?
What about Texas and New Mexico or Arizona and Nevada? They would be very "hot" places as well - wouldn't they?

I think the highest recorded temperature in Australia was at Oodnadatta, South Australia at 50.7 deg C (123.3 F) on January 2nd 1960.

Highest recorded temperature in North America was 56.7 C (134.0 F) at Death Valley on July 10, 1913

I've got 3 R710's spread out around my apartment. Usually don't need any other heating during the winter.

Everything's  in Queensland!
haha, I can say I have pretty much lived in every state and Territory of Australia and you can not match Qld's weather. Darwin is good weather but the humidity gets a bit much especially in the build up for monsoon season.

The weather here is insane one day it is like plus 3 Celsius then it drops to minus 40 the next day then it snows like crazy since this is a temperate zone wild swings in weather is very noticeable never seen such wild swings in temps

Yeah it's been the weirdest winter here...with wild swings. Yesterday..was 50*F, the past weekend was close...I took the Harley out for a ride. The weeks prior...it was -8*F...with many days below 0. Prior to that, upper 40's...prior to that...single digits. Up, down, up, down. Never seen such an up down winter every other week.
