[SOLVED] Flashing Screen Windows 8.1 Desktop Only

A really did not what to post this, but I have being looking at it for a few hours and am stuck

Windows 8.1 on a Samsung RV510.

When you boot the laptop up and login to the account everything is fine on the metro screen. as soon as you go to the Desktop tile and click the screen starts flashing and from the x screen to the y screen., to the desktop backround with icons, to dark blue background. - I'm doubting hardware as it only does it on dekstop mode.

It works fine in safe mode, I thought it was a driver update so remove the graphics adapter and monitor driver. So it has to be a running service?

I have ran SFC, Chkdsk, Checked the hard drive is not failing.

The fix was to uninstall Norton and reinstall, must of being a faulty update

anything in event logs? have you tried disabling the startup items that you could disable?

All the start up items where disabled. I found nothing in the event log to riaise concern. No updated installed in over a month.

I think I have just found the issue Norton! I have taken that off rebooted a few times and all is okay, so in the middle of a reinstall to see what happens,
