3 Weeks ago. 3 weeks ago I contacted Lenovo's tech support to get the video cable/lcd cable and inverter for my clients Lenovo Ideapad y560d laptop. I asked for the price of the lcd wire and she told me $31, but I need the inverter too. She told me for $67 (including shipping!) I would receive an entire lcd panel/screen including the lcd wires and inverter. So I said to her, ARE YOU SURE? Just to be CLEAR here and I realize I have asked you this 2 other times.. I am receiving the ENTIRE LCD Panel with Inverter AND lcd wires for $67 delivered? She says, YES SIR! So I thought, wow what a deal! Amazing! Incredible! You know what they say.. if it sounds too good to be true.....
4 days later I receive the part in the box, and it feels VERY light to me. It can't be an LCD screen, impossible! I open it up.. She had shipped me a front lcd BEZEL for a screen. No, no screen, no inverter, no lcd wires. I call them back and try to control my frustration. The agent on the phone ROLLS her eyes and says under her voice "oh my God! what an idiot!"... Apparently even though I gave the serial number and all the proper info (several times I might add), she screwed up the order entirely (the first agent at any rate).
I tell her I need a refund and I need the proper pricing and part #s. She has the LCD cable part # and price ($43) but the inverter she can't find. I'm put on hold many times for extended periods of time. I'm told the LCD Panel is $489 approx and it includes all the wires and inverter. I tell her there's nothing WRONG with the screen I just need the inverter. AT this point it's the price of the laptop. She tells me she sent a request to the parts department and that I should try again the next day.
I call back 2 days later. I'm told they have no information about the part # or pricing, we have to contact the part department... AGAIN! Now I'm assured I will be contacted with all this information personally by the agent. Well I receive no call, and an entire week goes by.
I called them today. They have no further information and again I'm put on hold. Now I'm told there's no inverter available and I'd have to buy the entire panel to get it. I explain to her that an inverter is typically $15 - $30 and I don't NEED To buy an entire screen. You don't buy an entirely new house if your air conditioning ain't working either!
Anyway at this point I still have no inverter, I cannot find it on ebay or elsewhere. I have checked lenovospareparts.com and it's not available there. If anybody here is familiar with this model or knows which inverter I can get for it I would be very appreciative. I suspect I can use another lenovos inverter in the ideapad series for it but I have no idea the voltages etc on it.
Any suggestions would also be appreciated!
Thanks,
Majestic
