A few weeks ago I attempted to repair a Lenovo Yoga laptop that needed a new keyboard. It was my first time dealing with a keyboard that can't simply be lifted up, but instead requires disassembling the laptop and popping it out (busting the little plastic things holding it and it's backplate in place.) Tried snapping in the new keyboard but it didn't go back into place properly and couldn't snap into all of the plastic pieces.
Submitted a return and the company told me to try using double-sided tape or soldering. I purchased a used entire palmrest / upper assembly and it worked fine. Was I supposed to be able to get the replacement keyboard to work? Seems like a gigantic pain in the ass and you can never make it as good as it was brand new.
Notice all the holes where the plastic things go into.
Edit: Here's a good video showing how to fix it properly:
Huge pain in the arse.
