How Do You Cool Your PC ?

I recently started having some over-heating problems with my pc. What measures do you people take to improve cooling of your pc ? Is one rear fan enough ?

Thanks Stealth. I will be trying out some of the stuff from that post that I already haven't. I am also thinking of buying a better cabinet with fan on the sides etc.

That's a good idea. Make sure that it has open vents on the side as well, since the front one is usually blocked by the mask which might cause the computer to suck air in through your optical and floppy drives.

Also, if you want, you can fashion a thin cardboard air duct so you can direct the air from the side fans where it's needed - be it your graphics card or the harddrives.

With todays processors, one rear fan definently isnt enough.
On my PC I have a 120mm in the front, a 120mm in the back, a 80mm in the top, a 80mm in the back near the PSU (not used though) and a monster heatsink on the CPU which keeps it at a decent temperature.

Bare minimum I recommend at least a front fan and back fan with a good aftermarket cpu fan and heatsink.

One Rear Fan is not going to keep it as cool as you need too 90% of the time. If you didn't read my PC cooling down thread you might not know, but I had some recent cooling problems (120c CPU Temp  ).

I had a 120mm fan in the front exhausting, a 120mm fan in the front pulling in, 2 fans on my PSU (not sure of size), and the stock intel heatsink/fan combo. I went and ordered a Zalman's aftermarket CPU cooler, and it cooled my CPU down to 60c. A good CPU cooler will drop your pc a pretty good amount usually, and with the temperature drop also comes increased performance and also the possibility of overclocking.

To help cool my pc I put it on top of my desk to keep the back from getting cloged with dust and it keeps the back open from the wires blocking the fans.

I ahve a nice fan that I ahve sitting next to my computer that blows nice cool are at it from the side all day long.

I tried all kinds of air cooling but I overclocked all my processors Ive ever had, lol so I had to go to watercooling for the best performance..

I wanted water cooling but my budget didn't allow me :( so I dug a hole on top of my case and stuck a fan through it :p

I do not really have to worry about keeping my pc cool becasue I have it in a room that has ac so it is always around 67-72 and that is cool enough for my computer so all I need to ahve is one fan.
