Hey Fellas!
Just brought in an HP Envy 17 at customer request. Don't have the specific model number on hand, but in any case does anyone have any experience with these things? The '3' key on the number row, the '7' key on the number pad, and the word 'Tab' on the tab key are all not lit, while the rest of the keys are brightly illuminated. Seems to work great aside from this, all keys function as they should, but it is ugly as sin with random unlit keys and I cannot find reference to this in the provided documentation, or find any reference to others with a simlar reported problem. (The actual print on the keys is some type of transparent etching (I don't really know lol), so when the keys light it only shows through the print)
Anybody run into this with simlar units? Lots of reports of specific keys failing on the HP site, but I cannot see anyone eluding to lights failing. Any thoughts are more than welcome!
Edit: I Should add this is a new 3D unit just out of box today. Probably going to look at sending it back as it was pretty darn expensive and I don't want to try to pass it off to a customer with an obvious flaw.
