I have a customers machine, did a full scan for virus/spyware was clean
Did a chkdsk no errors was clean
Machine has boot spash loading windows with ms color flags goes to a black screen with movable cursor, can't crel-alt-del to get task manger, 3 tap shift nothing.
Tried a system restore from repair console said it was successful no errors ,same thing, then tried system restore again, says there are no restore points.

Anyone have any ideas i even looked for 0 byte dll files no dice.

It had win 7 upgrade it is just faster to backup n&p there are not enough tools to fix a non-bootable win 7 install.
That is one of the reasons why win 8 is in works vista and windows 7 is too hard to fix if you can't get it to boot and i find 99% time system restore never works it always say there are no restore points.

We've been through this before. There is even a Microsoft hotfix (ha).

Sometimes you can fix it, sometimes you can't, there is no single source or fix.
