So we had a 27" iMac AIO unit in for hard drive replacement. Put the thing on the bench to start the repair. I attached suction cups and noticed a small chip in the edge of the glass about 4" in from the top left. Shrugged it off. Pulled the top right side, no problem, pulled the bottom left side, CRACK. Yup, right across the glass starting at that chip. So we called customer to tell them there would be a delay in the repair due to the glass breaking. Mentioned the chip to her. She said she dropped a laptop on it a while back. Lesson learned. Any defects in glass get a signed waiver from now on. Still making a profit, just $60 less.

Client supplied inventory should be checked and noted, including damage whilst client is there and legal documentation signed.
This time, take it a a lesson learnt don't charge the customer for your damage [ I understand you did not].
