Hello, since i believe psu , motherboard and ram is the key factor for healthy and long lasting system i need to use quality parts.

problem is I can find cheapest computer parts but i don't know how reliable they are and because of this reason i usually go for brand name but they are very expensive Specialy for Basic Entery Level Computers.

for example there are cheap 450w win power psu on market little as $10 but i don't know if they good to use as a replacement for customers pc?

psu and ram is my biggest concern. if they are not reliable usually cost lot of problem and last thing i want customers phone me and tell me that computer i repaired for him is gone down again.

motherboards: for cheapest required systems i am happy using as rock and for performance system i usually use gigabyte or asus so i have no problem with mobos.

CAN ANY BODY ADVICE ME CHEAPEST BUT RELIABLE 2 PSU AND 2 RAM BRAND NAMES THAT I CAN USE ON CUSTOMERS PC ?

before somebody clever reply nothing cheap is reliable or go to new egg, amazon: I actually want to know which reliable PSU & RAM brand do you use regularly and recomend for the best price and performance part that I can use cheapest for computer repair business?

thanks in advance:)

Just about any PSU that is 80+ certified is trustworthy. In fact, I never use anything else. companies like Sunbeam and SPI are okay but not great- I wouldn't use anything higher than 350 watts with their products.

Memory I would say A-Data would be your best cheapest bet...I believe they use Samsung semiconductors, so they will last almost forever...other than that I wouldn't know since I only use high end memory in my PC and families PC's anyway.

just goto newegg and see the rating of the products!! Then just choose cheapest parts with best ratings. You can also google the parts and see if you can find better deal.

I am sory I always try to be nice at the begining of my threads but why some of you guys writing without sense ?

is this about who can reply most of threads or what?

I have been doing that years and I need some one who has experienced this parts from first hand, somebody like technician keep buying and using the parts. have you ever read ratings there? %80 ordinary users who need the part once every 5 years.why would I want to do this when i can ask the technicians opinion here anyway? i need professional Technician advice who uses this parts regulary. .i need advice something like what joseph leo wroted on the wall. thanx for your advice Too but you can do that.

Newegg's review system is the way to go. Also try amazon's as they have a pcparts section on their site.
As far as motherboards go stick with Intel boards if using an intel cpu.
Memory, use crucial.

With memory, I've never had a Kingston go bad on me yet that I am aware of and I've put in probably at least 50 or more chips in over a few years. I know that's not a lot compared to what some of the others here do, but I've had good luck with them so far.

I haven't built really any computer that I would consider cheap as far as competing with low machines so I have nothing to say for that other than I've had a few customers get some of the cheaper e-machine with the Atom MB's and they seem to ok so far and VERY QUIET which is good.

hec HP485D 485W ATX12V Power Supply

That above model number power supply I've bought 5 of those over the course of the past 6 months or so and each one has worked great so far...so I've had good luck with that one.

Like I said I know this isn't anything probably compared to what most guys with a shop do, but this is my experience with these parts.

+10 I love newegg. I use that plus tigerdirect.com and amazon.com to make most of my buying decisions for hardware.

I think he wants brand names though- One thing I forgot to mention to him though is that the saying "You get what you pay for" is undoubtedly true. My power supply will never be anything from a brand I never heard of...and general rule of thumb is that if your power supply cost less than $30 then it will fail on you before your computer dies...also, any PSU that comes with a PC case is almost always pure junk- that's why all high-end PC Cases don't come with a PSU (With the exception of SFF cases and barebone PC's)

yes mate you have got it right! i need brand name that I can replace on $200 worth tower will last 2 years plus+, witout demaging other components.

since computer worth only 200 its not vice thing to price custumer $120 bill to fit it.

All I want to know what other techs using and if they are hapy with the price & quality?

is it a trade secret? why they keep diverting me to new egg, amazon? 3 - 5 - 7 years in technican business still go for new egg for same parts over and over again? what they use?

I am willing to pay $30 for psu and $20 1gb ram sticks for entery level pc to install. for performance pc finding a good part not issue.

part from you no one wrote something I can take it as advice.

maybe i am just over estimating majority of technicians here. i hope i am rong,

What's with the attitude? You ask a question in a forum and you're going to get drift. Getting an attitude will just antagonize people.

I read everything written in this topic and I have seen your attitude in almost every reply. Sorry, I don't help people with attitudes like that.

is it very hard to understand?

Not to be rude, but yes, it is hard to understand. The way you are typing your posts is very confusing. Also, everyone's responses are perfectly fine. If you want $20 RAM, goto Newegg, sort by price and read the reviews. We are not going to do your shopping for you.

As for reliable brands, PSU's I use SeaSonic. RAM, Corsair.

I'll agree that it is a little hard to understand....

However, here is a list of notable, reputable power supplies (slightly outdated):
http://www.tech-forums.net/pc/f76/read-first-updated-power-supply-guide-137927/

My favorites for CHEAP (not necessarily high quality) replacement PSU are Antec, Thermaltake, Fortron, and OCZ. You really do have to do a bit of research though to ensure that you get a good match. I say that because, for example, I've had some Antec power supplies that were lemons, and then I've had some other ones with names I've never heard of that tested good.

Just make sure that when you say "cheap," that you do a good job explaining to your customer the value of some higher priced parts. Perhaps the reason you're replacing their motherboard is because it was a cheap one, and they really need to invest a little in a better quality part.

RAM: Corsair, Kingston, or Crucial (whatever's cheapest at the time)
PSU: Corsair, OCZ, Antec, Thermaltake (again, whatever's cheapest)
Mobo: Gigabyte
