I have decided to conduct a survey in the local area and want to get the most out of it. I don't want to have to do this more than one time, so I want to make sure I have all the questions that will be beneficial.

If you were to conduct a survey, what are some questions you would ask. I know they may not fit my needs/business but you may mention something of importance.

I plan to go to a couple colleges and offer gift certificates for local merchants. I don't know if it will be possible to make a deal with the local merchants but I'll see. If I can't I'll offer coupons for them and either a gift card or possibly a prepaid visa for a small amount ($5-10). I am hoping o be able to get 10-20 merchant all to offer a decent coupon and not have to offer gift cards. They will be a last resort. I am also going to see if they want me to hand out pens, magnets, etc. I know when I was in college, students were willing to do this type of thing all the time. Kids would even sign up for a credit card that costs $79.00 per year (23.99% apr) FOR A TEE SHIRT!

I figure this will be a good way to get email addresses and data on what these kids want, need and do.

I'll be happy to share my results so if you have questions get them on here!

What do you think?

Here are some of the types of merchants I am thinking of soliciting:
-Pizza shops (each local to the college)
-Car Audio/video & Home theater store
-Tanning Salon
-Gym / Athletic club
-Printing company (to print all the coupons and include their own)
-Bowling Alley
-Deli (sandwich shop)
-Clothing store - formal, casual, athletic (one each)
-Auto repair/maintenance/inspection shop
-Jewelry shop
-Tobacco shop
-Beer distributor
-Sporting equipment store
-Camping/hiking/backpacking supply store
-Attorney (DUI/Underage) ???
-Beauty Salon / Hair Dresser
-Barber Shop
-Nail shop
-Used car dealership
and many more....
