I have a 2011 iMac that is immaculate, except that the LCD power port (DP POWER on board) is mangled. There is no chance of restoring it. How plausible is it for me to replace it? I'm passable at soldering. I managed to track down the connector, but I've been told the board is multi-layer and that my chances aren't great without more specialized equipment.
Does anyone have experience to share of this repair? I'd rather pay someone who will succeed over risk ruining it myself.
Secondly, assuming that it's not worth the risk, is there anyone in the community here who can do these kinds of repairs?
