Ingram Micro Canada Pricing

Hi All,

We are thinking of signing up with Ingram Micro Canada but want to make sure their prices are as good or better than what we currently have.

They told us we could mail in a short list of items so that we could get pricing... but then when we send in the list we get told we have to have an account first (nice cyclical relationship there).

I get it... this is their competitive advantage.

But I just want a few small prices to know whether it is worth it.

If there are any Canadian IM customers, could you tell me (or PM me) pricing for the following random samples:

· Cisco SG100D-05 5-Port Gigabit Unmanaged Network Switch (SG100D)
· Western Digital Black 1TB - 7200RPM - SATA 6Gb/s - 64MB - 3.5" – Internal
· Western Digital Black 750GB - 7200RPM - 16MB - SATA 6Gb/s - 2.5" - Internal
· Seagate Expansion 2TB - USB 3.0 - External Portable Hard Drive (STBX20)
· Ubiquiti Networks UniFi Pro Wireless Dual-Band Access Point (UAP-PRO)

Why these products? These are what we burn through the most in a month.

Also, do you know if there is a minimum order for IM? I see $7.50 will be added for orders less than $1750 CAD. Which is fine... but can we order any quantities of each unit or are they in blocks (like 10 x 3.5" HD's).

IM support has been less than helpful in finding these answers, so I turn to you, could TN members for help.

Cheers!

I would be interested to know this as well. I'm currently with D&H and they've been very good to me, but was considering Ingram for "backup", so to speak.

I no longer use IM after constantly finding their prices "meh".

I understand people want to save a buck here or there, but honestly, save yourself the heartache and stop chasing the proverbial unicorn. I.T. prices in Canada are VERY close amomg all the big dogs. You should find a vendor that will do research and footwork for you, who has the resources on hand, and then beat them up on price.

I like softchoice right now, they can get me in touch with a specialist quickly and I can get the info I need. Which is worth far more than a few bucks saved.

IM prices were within a buck or 2 of everywhere else on most cisco, wd, seagate, lenovo, microsoft products that I ever asked them for. But my existing relationship with my other vendors was worth more so I dropped them.

Do you have to pay an annual membership fee for IM or am I missing something? You dropped them, as in you simply don't use them anymore?

Correct I just dont use them. They are NOT a hands-off vendor either. I always get calls hounding me to get thrm to quote. This angers me.
