I'm not seriously considering this machine mostly because it's a bit too thin/light for my comfort, but I'm also intrigued by the description which says the screen flickers but the photos suggest the classic "color channels disappearing" behavior I've seen when a video cable is not properly seated.

Just curious what others think?

It's an unusual laptop model, the lightest 17" laptop on the market and almost new. That means very difficult to work on, and parts difficult or impossible to find on ebay.

EDIT: and it would be under warranty, fixed for free, if it wasn't caused by damage.

I wouldn't touch it.

I quite liked their smartphones, too, before they left that market. I had no idea they'd entered the laptop market, but I'd be willing to give their products in that sphere a try, at the very least (not that specific instance, but more generally).
