joomla 1.6 logo/template help

Hi guys, first of all I dont have a clue about graphics design and web design. Gotta start somewhere though right?

ANyway starting work on a new website for my shop and im using joomla 1.6

the website is http://www.pdcomputing.co.uk/

as you can see the surroundings of the logo looks horrible. I have the original AI file from the guy that did the logo first time round so i was wondering what i have to change to rectify this?

I'm not designer or anything but I suspect your logo is on a transparent background. So in Illustrator make sure you have a blue background with the same value as your blue background on your website.

yes it is on a transparent background. i will change that and see how it turns out Martyn thanks.

Yep can see what you mean about the edges. If you're unsure about how to do the work yourself, you might approach the designer for information on whats required for the design to display effectively?

i want to do as much of the work as possible and dont like to pester him as i know he is very busy. He has done me afew designs actually. i have that planet discs one which is actually for my other site www.planetdiscs.com
the PD Computing one is the same effect (I have changed it to the correct logo now) he also did this one for my brother www.dwclothing.co.uk
