Lenovo M70s Gen 5 can't update BIOS

I supplied a Lenovo M70s Gen 5 SFF and it has some issues that seem BIOS related:
1. Very slow POST, over a minute to get Lenovo logo on screen from power on
2. Will not wake from sleep.

Another issue my customer is getting:
Web pages sometimes won't load or have all graphics missing.

For the life of me, I can't get the BIOS updated. Current is M56KT3FA. Tried several methods and none of them work. Automatic tools (Vantage, scanning from Lenovo site) don't show any BIOS updates available. However the manual driver page for the machine's serial shows the latest BIOS update very recent (Jan 2025, M56KJY50), the previous update was also recent (Nov 2024, M56KJY4E). Neither of this will install, tried both the Windows installer version and the USB boot version. The JY4E one gets error code 0x10, the more recent one doesn't show an error but after reboot the BIOS version hasn't changed.

Spent hours on this yesterday and raised a warranty service ticket with Lenovo. No response yet on that.

UPDATE: Went to the Lenovo support page this morning and found a new BIOS update dated Feb 20! Again, I can't get that installed.

Any tips or feedback welcome.
 
I'm all for delivering quality customer service. But my responses within the context of OEM/third party warranty as well as extended warranty is limited. I don't want their failures to reflect on me.

In this case I'd have reset the BIOS via the motherboard, leave the CMOS battery out overnight. Put it all back together and try again. Doesn't work then contact the OEM to get a repair ticket created. Forgot to mention. Make sure power is within spec .
 
If it's still under warranty, I would run the built-in diagnostics and report those results along with your symptoms in a support ticket. This sure sounds like a hardware issue and Lenovo will need to get involved. Unless you are confident you can successfully bill for your time, don't waste any more time on it.
 
It's only 3 months old, the waking from sleep and slow POST issues have been occurring (I believe) since a BIOS update early on.

I've raised a support ticket, have had an email response with some troubleshooting steps. Took me about half an hour to do the useless troubleshooting steps, now waiting for their next move (hopefully a tech with replacement motherboard).
