Does anyone use Live Chat on their website? I'm trying out Tidio with WordPress.

I ask because I'm curious if it has helped any of you all with getting new customers. I'm not sure I need one more thing to keep up with if it's not going to lead to any new clients.

I had live chat on my site about 4 years ago. Even though I had numerous visitors, no one ever used the chat. They would simply call or use the contact form. I eventually removed it. Now that I am doing well in MSP, those clients use the RMM contact tool.

I have visited countless websites where they have live chat however, 99% of the time it says "leave a message". Also, if your site has information that is relevant, then live chat is not actually needed, IMO - and, its more better and productive to just have potential clients call you.

I also had numerous visitors but perhaps one chat request every 6 months from either:
- Competition
- An end user looking for FREE advice
- Tire Kicker

I tried it once but I didn't see all the messages and they came over in email but many people passed on. I now use an online scheduler program and people can leave messages. I get a lot of my inbound calls from this now. I pay $300 a year, it's amazing! Uses my exchange calendar to offer times and I have 4 different selections. https://www.vcita.com is the site and you can see it on my site here. https://www.callthatgirl.biz see the bottom right corner pop up.

I use livezilla, I like it I can push people to different urls which is handy. I know a lot of sites these days are using tawk.to but I havent personally tried it. I am home during my business hours so livezilla works well for me, I didn't like their mobile chat much but i havent tried it since it first came out.

Perhaps it is different with the data recovery industry, but I frequently engage with clients via our online chat (Pure Chat). Even though our prices are posted on our site and I can even see that they have already been on that page, they are frequently looking for more specific details or clarification.

When we are away after hours, the chat becomes a quick way for a client to send us a question.

Pure Chat has notified me that my grandfathered plan is ending and that my costs are going up. Now I need to decide if I continue with them or look for an alternative.

Like Lisa (@callthatgirl) I do have an onsite booking system tied to a calendar. You can see that by clicking Book Online from the site or directly here. Mine is through my Square account and is free. There are many ways - both free and paid - for your clients (potential and existing) to get in touch with you or set an appointment without the use of onsite live messages that rarely get used or if they do, then @allanc has a good point above.

Better question: Are you getting the traffic to the site to actually use the Live Chat?
Can you man it all the time?
Why cant most questions be answered in your sales copy?
Any big talk would best be done on phone too.

No big traffic yet, but working on it! The chat would be pretty easy to man because it ties to an app on my phone.

Good point about the sales copy, still working on that too. I'm only about two weeks back into this : )

+1 to dropping the chat feature, thank you.

Nice Lisa! I am definitely looking into vCita. Which particular package are you using from them?

Nice, thanks for your feedback.

So much for grandfathered in huh? Perhaps its time for an alternative solution of which a few have been mentioned in this thread already. Also can check these out if your wanting something that you don't have to pay for forever. This one is nice and cheap too.

Excellent, sounds helpful in your case. Thanks.

I'm trying out Tidio and it solid so far.

Nice, I've thought about using Square. Do you know if the square appointment feature would integrate with WordPress?
