Hi, just got in a 2020 Macbook pro that my client bought herself when she worked for amazon, she no longer works for them, she tried resetting it herself and couldn't get into recovery without the amazon remote access message. She brought it to me and I managed to wipe it and reload and now getting a Amazon sign in box, no option to opt out of the remote access. Is she screwed? she already tried calling the IT dept. and they didn't have a clue.20250111_171214.jpg

It looks like the “Amazon sign-in box” you're seeing suggests that the MacBook is still linked to Amazon’s device management system, which is likely prompting for credentials to unlock or remove that restriction, she is screwed. The device and her credentials needs to be removed from Amazons management system via their I.T Department.

Yep. Device management. There's a reason why these types of services exist and why an N&P won't work. Midway is providing the service and they won't be of any help.

Got it done! I ended up installing mojave, and disconnecting wifi at 1 min left to install, then followed instructions on link bellow with the exception I had to open the hosts file with sudo nano /ect/hosts instead of their vi method in terminal . works! remove MDM block

Great find. But it does mention if they have Find My.... enabled for the device it won't work. That function lives on Apple's servers.
yup, I've run up against that issue more than once, at least this fix appears to have worked!
