I don't do a lot with Macs, but I know I've made this work before. I have a client with a mix of Macs and PCs. They have a Synology NAS for centralized storage with several different shared folders accessible based on the user (authentication is required).
I spent an hour yesterday with a new iMac (on Ventura) trying to either get a consistent listing in Finder for 3 or 4 shared folders on the NAS, or make desktop shortcuts. The connect-to-server thing works, but is reset on reboot so the connections aren't permanent. There is a checkbox in that process for "remember in keychain" and I'm thinking that this must be the place where it is supposed to be remembered or not, but regardless of whether I check that box or not, the connection disappears on a reboot.
Once the drive is mounted, I can also drag it to the Finder sidebar, but again, this is reset on reboot so it's not a permanent action. What am I missing?
