Have a client who has bits and pieces of Mcafee SAS left on a workstation and windows 10 will not upgrade because the SAS (remains) is incompatible. I called Mcafee F'ers wont talk to me because my contract number has expired.

I have found many manual removal articles and they don't apply to my particular version as they reg keys don't match.

I have used a publicly available removal tool but apparently that is only for the consumer version. There is a tech tool for the SAS product only available for current contract re sellers and I can't get to it.

Any suggestions on a manual uninstall sequence? I think we had version 5.x or so (they are presently up to 8 i believe.

I have had a few issues with removing Mcafee. This is what I remember solving them.

Re-install the program, (yes re-install), the copy you now have is corrupted.
Reboot
Remove using Revo Uninstaller with the advanced removal checked (most aggressive).
Reboot.
Run this Mcafee removal tool.

Reboot.
Should now be gone. You may have to remove some manual stuff left in Programs and/or Programs x86

Do in this order and EVERY reboot.

Thanks for the replies... I don't have the source to reinstall and remove so I guess it will be easier to do a nuke and pave with this.
did you try that link i suggested? aside from that searching through autoruns for the vendor mcafee can also be helpful and of course a registry search provided you do a full backup before going and trying to do a manual removal.
