This is more a preparation question. Mac A (OSX 10.14.4) is backing up to a Synology NAS. Scenario: if Mac A fails can I transfer the User Data to operational MAC B (OSX 10.14.5)?
My research suggests it is possible by doing this:
1. Unmount the TM backup from Mac A. If the Mac fails I'm assuming that would be the case.
2. Mount this TM to Mac B. <- Is this required? Or can I just point Migration Assistant to it in the next step?
3. Launch Migration Assistant (Applications > Utilities)
4. Follow steps and the step to select what to import uncheck everything (i.e. Applications, Computer & Network settings) except for the User Account.
Finish.
Thanks as always for the help.
