This machine has been running great with windows 7 64 bit on Two 1TB Barracuda drives locked in a Intel ICH9R RAID 0 for almost a year.
The computer also has a 750GB SAMSUNG dirve that is not part of the RAID installed. That 750GB drive was used for the pagefile and a factory image only.
Recap
1. Win7 64
2. Two 1TB drives in a Intel ICH9R RAID 0 partitioned like this "500GB partition with Windows 7 installed and bootable. The other partition is 1500GB and used for storage of family video's and pictures."
3. 750GB drive for pagefile and factory partition.

What happened to this computer is that the 750GB Pagefile drive was removed for some reason and the computer was powered up without it. Then the "bootmgr is missing" screen appeared. Then the 750GB drive was plugged back in. In a attempt to fix the bootmgr is missing problem, but nothing changed.

What I see when I boot the computer up is that after the BIOS entry screen flashes by just fine, but the next screen is the Intel ICH9R Matxrix manager and it says the status of both RAID Volumes has failed and not bootable ( see pictures ). The manager also shows a 931GB drive, but that drive does not exist (see picture). After the matix manager goes by the next screen says "bootmgr is missing press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart".
I tried to repair windows by using using the Win7 installation DVD but setup was unable to locate ANY! Windows installations on this computer (see pictures). I even tried Bootrec /RebuildBcd from the command prompt and /fixbmr, /fixboot all that. Nothing works.

Recap
1. 750GB Pagefile drive was unplugged and the computer booted without it and the boot failed.
2. Intel ICH9R Matxrix manager says the two disk RAID 0 has failed and not bootable.
3. Win 7 Installation DVD's repair function and it can't see any installed Windows installs

Does anyone have even a small clue of what to do here? I really need some help.

Reported this post as it is an end user question.
please take the computer to a repair shop in your area

Dang, dude...How is this an end user question? Seems like a reasonable problem and question to me.

Anyway, I think this is a key part:
The manager also shows a 931GB drive, but that drive does not exist (see picture).
It sounds to me like the reason the raid failed is because when someone was in there monkey'in around, they messed up the raid config. The 931gb drive that you say "does not exist"...probably does exist and it's one of the raid drives. See about rebuilding the array.

Then never use RAID0 again.

I'm not sure this is an end user but I hate to say that this looks like a simple straight forward hose array and it is RAID0 so there is essentially no recovery option rebuild and restart.

Yes! A RAID is bad. If I rebuild it will all DATA be lost? We cant aford to loose anything.

I deserve all the punishment you all can dish out! I should of used my head and never setup this RAID. The worst part is I did this to my frieds computer. :(
And on the RAID is video and pictures of his family and video and pictures of him and I summiting Mount rainier this sumner. No copys of the video exist other than whats on the RAID.

Maybe someone could smack me in the face though the monitor

Try booting with Ubuntu, and seeing if it recognizes anything? Sorry if that sounds stupid...I don't know much about RAID.

coreyspeed:
Definitely this is not an end user question.
I don't think end users know about RAID functions (pros and cons).
This is a very valid question.

This forum ("Tech-to-Tech Computer Help") does not exist to provide free tech support to end users. Please go find a local tech so he can sort out the RAID setup and sell you some backup disks
