[SOLVED] Need help with File/Folder permissions

I'm leaning towards a "no" on the group policy being the issue...
else, unless there's separate OUs of workstations with loopback being applied on some not others...I don't see how it would function OK from another workstation.

Back to the "path" of the shortcut.....can you check that?

I'm going "off the grid" in 1.5 hours for 4 days (well, as much "off the grid" as I can...weekend getaway with wife to the mountains)....if I don't catch you within the next hour...good luck with this.

Just wanted to update:

I used Stonecat's "washing machine" suggestion and now everything is working as it should.

As for the question, does QC being located inside the root share cause issues: All users have read, list, and traverse permissions in the root... So I'm going to assume that is why its not causing an issue.

Thanks to everyone who chimed in with ideas!!

Well glad it's all working again! That file system looks horrible. LOL

Bad permissions structure and broken inheritance. If it was my client, I'd not bill for the time spent troubleshooting the issue...as long as they pay for the project to reorganize everything. Something along the lines of, "look you can pay this, and most likely have it come up again, or pay for the project to set this up they way it should be, and it should prevent the problem from coming back, or make it way more efficient to solve should it happen again".

Frankly, it's not even about the money really. If I broke even on that project I'd be happy. Why? Because troubleshooting permissions structures like that make me cuss like a sailor. :) Doing the project makes your life easier going forward...and the clients. They should pay, and get them to pay full price for the project if you can...but I'd clean it up for bones if that's all I could get...things like that make me cringe.
