So much for the pure Windows experience promised by Microsoft.

Lol. Kind of reminds me of being in walmart the other day, they had a Windows 8.1 tablet that was stuck on a blue screen.

So, since I've learned over the years not to jump at any new iteration of Windows, and the software will (supposedly) only be downloaded during the initial launch, all I have to do is wait until the dust settles and I miss the whole thing...right?

I think all the junkware and garbage we take off customers computers today will become part of the
"Windows Experience" in the future. MS has probably realized they can make more money shoving garbage
down the throats of stupid computer users than they make just selling a clean O/S.

Maybe for now. But I'm sure every time they release a "Service Pack" it will come with "Bonus Offers".

If people want free they need to make money and recover their expenses somehow. The web today is largely bases on ad supported service. Installing a game is pretty benign; I would take that over ads any day(they will probably come).

@ohio_grad_06 the nexus line from Google is pure without any of the carrier crap added on.

I hope it doesn't get to the point where it is like "This windows update is brought to you by(Random adware sponsor)!"

Can you imagine doing updates and seeing something like "Please enjoy these commercials while your updates are installing". That would make me finally switch completely to a mac.

So glad we'll be dealing with enterprise versions 99% of the time, and not have to deal with the "freemium" stuff that more base versions and freebie upgrade versions of Win10 will have.

Are you sure? I hope you are correct. I don't want a bunch of games on all my office systems that I will have to take the time to remove.

Well, from what I've read so far, I know there will be various versions of Win10, with the more free ones having less control of features, and there will be ways to get back control (purchase), what bring it back to normal full control as you get to enterprise versions. They won't have the fluffware.

Honestly though, games like Minesweeper and Solitaire never bothered me in the past,
..and bundling stuff is not new for Microsoft. Anyone here do this for a living back in the Windows 95 days? Win 3 days? If so...I'm sure you recall the bundled in links for AOL, Prodigy, and some other legacy ISP/web services? Compu<something>comes to mind too.

Starting to make a lot more sense now.
