Observed odd object in sky?

Last night was outside and observed a light that was going across in a horizontal pattern, faint.

So thought it must be a satelite so just kept watching it for about two or three minutes glide across the sky [clear night].
Though this is when the odd thing occured. Another light which I thought was a star then came about a minute later in the path of the original object - straight line, though then it suddenly brightened and also went on an upwards diagonal path then took a horizontal path about thirty seconds after.

It was very odd to witness as it seemed to converge onto the other lights path that preceded it.

The second light was the size of say Venus and as bright when viewed from my perspective then kinda pulsed down in brightness at the end.

It could have been anything as I am not an astrophysicist though to a layperson it did manouver in a controlled manner.

FOOTNOTE : I do not take drugs or drink alcohol or watch Ancient Aliens, though I do have an interest in the paranormal and UFO's UAP's or whatever they may be.

Hmmm interesting. I'm wondering what it might have been too. Any reports from news or other people?

It's also interesting that you added your "footnote." I think the days have passed where people have to justify themselves when they observe something "strange" in the skies.

Since "Disclosure" a few years ago and many governments around the world (except the US who still vehemently deny all knowledge) admitting to reports of weird stuff and also admitting to actually owning "alien tech" the days where people think you're a crackhead are long gone.

I too have seen several weird things in the sky, both day and night.

I have also seen some things.. from a mountain in Colorado.

Ironic, I'm actually building a "Sky Cam" right now. I don't expect to see much from my location - but you never know.

Currently trying out UFODAP (https://ufodap.com/) - but also trying out BOB Camera(https://github.com/bobcamera/bobcamera)
BOB Camera is clearly superior -but doesn't yet have the ability to control a PTZ camera for tracking and Zoom.

Sky360 is also out there, but quite a bit more hardware involved. (https://www.sky360.org/}

Each of these projects have active Discords.

I want to believe.

Yeah same thinking here as @ThatPlace928 wife and I were outside looking at some of the Northern Lights so it might have been a similar and related phenomenon occurring in your region at that time.

Interesting. They definitely did make it "much further south" than usual last night. I went out around 10:15 PM, and they were definitely quite visible like a "pink mist" on the sky to the north. Not particularly spectacular as far as any dancing movement or color change, but it was the one and only time I've experienced an aurora.

The NOAA Map (https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/aurora-viewline-tonight-and-tomorrow-night-experimental) has shrunk northward for tonight, but even last night's map did not have substantial probability of the appearance of the aurora in Virginia, but there it was.

Well I saw something again last night, I have located on a star chart finally where it is occuring.
It seems to be in the Pegasus Constellation within The Andromeda Galaxy.

It went for about five minutes from Point A [PINK] from Caph and ZigZagged down to Mirach.
The one from the other week traveled [As shown in Orange] in that path from Alpheratz to Markab.
They seem to travel in what I interpret as a sine wave, never direct and do deviate.

I have now ordered a telescope one of these Sky-Watcher Heritage 5″ to get a better look that is how serious I am about these observations.
I am simply amazed of the activity!

Have you thought about calling Melbourne Astronomical Society and ask them what it could be?
Give them the co-ords of where you saw it and they may be able to help you identify what it is.

I have a feeling its something very much closer to "home" than an interstellar anomaly.

Yes I shall, though "they" act bizzare.

Now just a recap I am still seeing these orbs. With all the orbs in the news of late this is what I have been seeing. Not these drones whatever they are, I do not really have any intrest in those in the news. I cannot take any photos as it will just come out as a potato cam photo.

I see them all the time with the naked eye. With my scope I am a total noob and cannot pinpoint them to focus on.

They are bright objects that zigzag then disappear or travel from one point to another then disappear. These are on clear nights as well. I am very fascinated with what I am observing and journaling them.

No I have no eye issues as I can see these with my naked eyes, multiple times. They are like stars moving and pulsing not traveling in a straight trajectory. They are not satelittes as I have checked trajectorys of satelittes online. Some move from a vertical point down to another point and vanish. Others move in a zigzag pattern accross the sky.

Ok so I got a video on the 27/1/2025 on my S22. I have two videos here these are what I have been on about. I see them every night when I go outside and stare into the sky. Not the best quality though best I have.

This one is the original from my S22

This is a zoomed in version done via Da Vinci Resolve only zoom was used no effects etc.

Occam's razor. It just looks like it is far away because it is small and in the dark, there are no clues for depth perception. If I can buy this toy for ten bucks on Amazon, you know there have to be pro or enthusiast versions for a few hundred bucks that you can use to create the observed illusion.

No it is up way to high for that, if it was a drone would have to be some kind of military tech. Did you notice in the second video that the object was polygonal in shape and was rotating as it moved?
