From what I recall there was a time in the beginning when office 2013 used keys like older versions of office. I am not talking about the key that allows you to connect it to your account, but an actual key. We have a client which when running a key extraction program gives us her office key for home and student 2013. This office is not tied to her ms account. Where would we find the installer to go with this key?

Make the MS account, feed it the key, it'll link up and work just like normal.

Otherwise, I'd have to pass you a special installer, I use a Lenovo OEM image from way back. The problem is it's ANCIENT and the darned thing loves to not update properly, so you wind up doing an online repair... which deactivates the thing... and you end up stuffing the code into office.com anyway.

Most likely they ended up with Office from a different region.

For instance this is on the back of a normal card (for 2013):
Code:
Use this product key to setup Office for the first time at www.office.com/setup
Manage your account after setup at www.office.com/myaccount

Here is the card that is a straight install key:
Code:
Keep this product key in case you ever need to reinstall Office.
Go to www.office.com/downloadoffice to download the software.
Most likely she ended up what that version. If you try to use the key at office.com/setup it will not add to an account and just spit back the key and a download link.
