Outlook 2016 on Windows 10.
Outlook is already running and with emails open etc.

When my customer remotes into her work computer from home via VPN, Outlook crashes.

Its an issue because the client leaves reply emails open when she leaves work and when she gets back to it at work Outlook crashes and she doesnt know what she was working on.

Any idea what might cause this?

Where is her mail server located? The cloud? The network she is VPN'ing into? Also, when you say she remotes into her work computer via VPN, I am confused. Is she using RDP or some other remote access software to remotely access her work computer or is she using a VPN to remote into her work network?

Hi,
Exchange is hosted offsite (Appriver)

She has occasional Outlook crashes normally with no rhyme or reason. (Seems related to Linkpoint outlook plug in)

She is using a VPN to RDP to her work desktop.

I have been trying to pinpoint the seemingly random outlook crashes and when see RDPs into her work computer Outlook always crashes.

I figured that's a good starting point even though it may have nothing to do with the other Outlook crashes.

I am still a bit confused. While similar, VPN and RDP are not the same thing. What program is she using to remotely access her work computer?

She runs a Mac at home and uses a VPN client to connect to the office server and then uses Microsoft RDP for the Mac to connect to her office PC.

So Outlook is running on her office workstation, and when she RDP's into it from her MAC...the Microsoft Remote Desktop Client for Mac seems to crash her Outlook when she logs into her office workstation. I have a lot of clients that use the Remote Desktop Client for MAC utility to punch into a terminal server or their desktops via TSGateway/terminal server. Haven't seen this issue. The VPN is just a way for her to connect to the office network...so that should not affect this. Unless she's VPN'ing into her workstation.(which i doubt).

My first hunch...is a display/resolution change, when she RDP's in, and it's not adjusting properly. Try updating her office rigs video drivers?
