Outlook keeps losing Public folders

I have a new client that I recently moved to Rackspace hosted exchange. They want to use a public calendar and contacts. I created public folders for both and put links in the favorites. This works for a few days and then the public folders suddenly vanish. Only, way to get them back is to create a new profile. Major PITA.

Anyone see this before?

Windows 7 Pro running Office 2013 H&B so it is outlook 2013. Unit is an Intel Nano i5 running with 8GB

Is there any chance Outlook 2013 has gone back to mail view which does not show Public Folders? If you switch to folder list mode (https://help.utk.edu/kb/index2.php?func=show&e=22640) do the Public Folders magically appear?

I might also try clicking In the properties of your Exchange profile, under More Settings and Advanced, there may be a tick box to Download (cache) public folders locally. I'd try ticking that perhaps to see if it improves reliability.

I might also try adding a mailbo as the shared resource instead of using Public Folders, but of course that might cost with Rackspace. MS give you free resource mailboxes for these things in Exchange Online/O365.

I gather there was an update that allowed viewing public folders in OWA, but no create or delete
If that is the update for Exchange server then I'd be amazed if Rackspace would install it onto their shared platform at the request of a user. They might have already planned to install it though. This is one of the reasons I like using Microsoft hosting. I've seen a few small companies start offering hosted Exchange with the cheap SPLA licencing but they then don't like to risk problems by installing service packs - you end up stuck on Exchange 2010 in some cases!

FYI this is still not working even with the cached boxes.

If autodiscover was broken then nothing would work. And only this user seems to be losing them. It's something client side IMO. And isn't momentary connection issues is what caching is suppose to address? The public folders are cached and they still drop and once dropped I can never get it back without a new profile. It is almost like it is related to the Outlook 2016 issues here: https://www.technibble.com/forums/threads/outlook-2016-hosted-exchange-again-still.70383/

But this client is 2013. But both of course use autodiscover.
