Anyone with an idea of how to get the back off a OneTwo L5700 . Have removed 6 visible screws and the stand and have separated the two edges of the case but they won't separate completely. I need to replace the hard disk

Am looking to see if there is an Acer equivalent but if anyone has any suggestions they would be appreciated.

Ok, didn't really check that. Have you checked to see if the front bezel can be removed? On some AIO's that is how you get into them.

There isn't a bezel, just the front and rear halves. Feels like there are some screws that I haven't seen but there are no labels for them to hide under.

Example of why I really hate all of these new designs.

A couple of other thoughts. Some of the early iMac's had a clip system holding the front to the back. So look through the slots in the back with a flashlight to see if there is anything. What type of a gap is there where the fron and back come together. If you do not have a laptop case cracker or spudger take an old credit card and grind a short edge until it's sharp. Then you can very carefully work around the edges to get an idea of whats there. Such as plastic tabs.

I can separate the front and back by about 1cm all the way around except for the area around the CD drive where the eject button seems to be catching.

I appreciate your suggestions so far

Is the opti drive a slot or tray? If it's tray pop it out and see if there is some kind of release hidden behind the face plate.

It's a slot, there is just the eject button that pokes through the rear case. Haven't touched it this evening, I'll start shining torches through the slots in the morning.

Nite nite

Only thing I found on this was this:

I bet there are clips on the inside that you have to release. How about a screw under a sticker on the back?

The case is very different. Couldn't see anything that might hide screws but am about to have another go. Wish me luck

Solved. The rear cover isn't one piece, with a bit of effort the central part can be removed to access the RAM slots. This also reveals 4 more screws holding the rest of the cover in place.

Inside the 3.5" hard disk is screwed onto the chassis using 3 screws. Unusually there is an earth strap stuck to the disk using tape.
