I am going to write a press release & am trying to come up with something that is exciting to readers. I was thinking of writing about adding remote services. I know I have to make it sound exciting with good copy to get attention.

We haven't done remote services yet & want to add them. Does anyone have any good buzz words or theme for writing a good press release about this subject?

Has anyone written PR before?
Thanks

If you are sending this press release to people who have already delt with you before, then it doesnt really matter what you say or how you say it.

However, if you are trying to get press to pick it up then it really needs to be news worthy. Offering a new service isnt really newsworthy. However, your business donating old computers to a charity is.

Also, if you want to increase your chances of media picking up the press release, I cant stress enough how important it is to get a professional to write it.
Its like a 16 year old cousin trying to fix a computer instead of getting a professional computer technician like us to do it.

If you, or anyone else reading this topic want my professional PR writer contact, give me a yell via PM. Ive worked with her before and she does amazing work.

Just a note from my only apperance on the front of Reseller New's
Be very careful what you write/say and ask to read there final copy before going to print.

I mentioned something along the lines of how at a large retail store (named them too:() the same person who will sell you a computer will sell you a couch! e.t.c it was all general loose conversation at the time but once it was in print it made humorus reading but didn't look good from a legal point of view and fortunately nothing came of it

I don't know what to write about that is newsworthy. We haven't donated old computers to charity. Maybe we should start! What else would be considered newsworthy?

I also want to start a collum in couple local big newspapers. I started articles with a local small community that we are located in newspaper. I will be in it every other month. I am in it this month.

The other papers want me to write articles as I want them to appear in paper. Should it be a Question & Answer interactive collumn or a tips type article?

I would like your PR pro writers info. Thanks!

PR Person info sent. As for what topics are newsworthy, look in your local paper and see what stories are going.
The big statewide papers tend to have the more important articles (fire, murder, scandal) and the smaller local papers tend to have smaller less important articles (local school festival, council issues). I say try your luck in the local papers first.
