Program that logs temperatures

We use the free version of OCCT, which does an excellent job of monitoring just about everything hardware-related. It pushes everything to its limits and gives you an alarm if something goes horribly wrong. But, it does not create a log. We need something to monitor the temperatures of vital components unattended and then make a log file that we can check regularly. What do you guys use for this?

Thank you in advance for your guidance and wisdom.

What about OCCT Pro? It does exactly what you're saying the free personal version lacks, in the form of a CSV file that can be opened with Excel or similar.

Please share the quote with us if you don't mind. I usually automatically pass over any software that won't reveal their pricing upfront, so this is an opportunity to learn. We use PC-Doctor for hardware testing and Furmark for graphics stress testing. We're not dissatisfied, but always looking for improvements.

You may have been typing as I hit send. Here's the quote I got for a Pro license:

Thank you for your interest in our software.

OCCT features the best stress tests available, enabling you to pinpoint any possible hardware issue or system instability quickly and efficiently. OCCT will be a perfect ally for your diagnostics procedures and help you to… stop the screaming!

OCCT’s Pro license is simple:

  • You need one license only.
  • The license is valid for a full year. While it is active, there are no restrictions: in the number of computers tested, in updates, in concurrent instances…
  • When it expires, OCCT won’t start – a renew will be required for it to function again.
  • You will acquire the rights to use OCCT in a commercial environment.
I must mention that the license doesn’t require you to be online – OCCT is fully portable and doesn’t require an internet connection to function and you do not need to install anything, the software is a simple .exe so no worries about uninstalling it, you can just remove the OCCT file when the test is done.

Our PRO license is priced at $ 250USD per year and license and invoice delivery is automatic post-purchase.

Oh - I guess I should have waited 30 seconds to post - haha. They also offer "Enterprise" which they tout as "Automatable", and "Enterprise Plus", which is apparently runnable remotely. We pay about $275 for PC-Doctor, but we only get the new version every 2 or 3 years, and they haven't forced folks into a subscription......yet.

I could never justify that, though certain people definitely could.
No way that is ridiculous and is US$ as well, a one off yes I would totally agree if that were a one off price not yearly.
For what the program does there is no need for that high market point.

I totally agree. They offered to give me a discount and let us use it for $250 a year since we do so much charitable work. It doesn't seem like much of a deal to me. We've been using the unregistered version for quite a while with great success, but if you use it to export an Excel spreadsheet, then you've got to pony up the money.

Thank you for all of your feedback.

Unsure if anyone uses this though can monitor system hardware at intervals of 1sec, 1hr >
Also it can export a log to a .xls document which can be converted to a nice little graph.
Can be connected to a remote web server as well to monitor.

To output a log sensors file, one needs to enable it in the OPTIONS>Log Sensors.
This then outputs a .csv file to the root directory of the app.
