Question about Racks

I recently setup a home user with a small enclosed rack:

and the following shelf which was listed as a frequently bought with the above enclosure:

However, I am unable to get the back panel on completely without it bending/warping considerably and safely close the glass door. I feel like the pressure exerted on the glass could cause it to break. But when the shelf isn't hitting the glass the back panel doesn't fit properly.

I have tried to slide the shelf back and forth trying to find the sweet spot in order to make both the door close and the metal back panel to fit properly but without success.

There is no wiring getting pinched between the shelf and the back panel, so there is nothing in the way.

Am I using the wrong size shelf or are these usually this tight?

Since you haven't gotten any replies yet, maybe others are having the same difficulty I am in understanding the problem, maybe posting some pics or videos of the issue might help.

Basically the space from the front to the back of the enclosure is the almost the exact same length of the shelf itself. There is no gap between the glass door and the shelf front and the back of the shelf touches the back wall of the enclosure.

If I slide the shelf back enough to make a tiny amount of space to safely close the glass door the back wall gets distorted. If I slide the shelf forward to eliminate the back wall bulging the front glass door presses so tightly against the shelf I am afraid the glass could shatter.

I don't have pictures but I ended up just purchasing a slightly shorter lengthed shelf which should eliminate the issue.

It just seemed weird the shelf listed as frequently sold with the enclosure and from the same manufacturer wouldn't fit, so I thought I might be doing something wrong. Which I might be, but either way I am hoping using the slightly shorter shelf will resolve it.

Could also just be Amazon trying to drum up some extra sales too.

I doubt the manufacturer would recommend a shelf that doesn't fit. Doing so would would just pi** people off (as it did for you) and negatively impact on their ratings etc..

I've bought navepoint products ... actually 4 in the last year their alignment is an absolute crapshoot. Not just panels but literally everything.

I'd easily pay double for a better built product but I don't know where to find it. The whole cabinet is built with cage nuts. RED FLAG.

I built 3x12u's and 1x9u and they all had varying degrees of quality even though I bought their "professional" series product.

The only saving grace is once that door is closed
.. forcefully sometimes...it probably won't be opened for years.

Tradeoffs for being cheap.

Edit: I bought two off Amazon and two off navepoint directly thinking it might be different and no they are all packaged the same. I'm surprised the tempered glass survived the trip in all cases.

i think this was the problem. Just because Amazon's algorithm notes that previous customers have purchased those two things together doesn't necessarily mean they are compatible - it just means that some people came before you that made the same mistake. Even if you stay within the same manufacturer, it's an extra step looking up specs to see if part A will be compatible with part B. If you're lucky, on the manufacturer's site, they might list compatible products with part numbers that you can then look for on Amazon or other sites.

Edit: Navepoint probably has a support line or chat somewhere that would get you the right answer.
