Question about send as permissions

I have a client who has send as permissions for a generic email account a couple people in the office use, but when she sends from it the sent email doesn't show up in the sent folder for that account in her Outlook.

She wants to be able to be able to see the emails she sent.

Any ideas why they don't show?

Thanks!

I'm going to assume you're talking about a Microsoft 365 platform. In that case it's like a shared mailbox and the mail she sent would be in the Sent folder of the shared mailbox, not her own Sent folder.

Yes, MS 365. I guess I assumed she was talking about that sent folder, but perhaps not. If it is indeed the correct sent folder could there be any reason they are not showing up? (I will confirm with her tomorrow).

If she is using the send as in my experience those messages are always found in the sent items folder of the individual who actually sent it not in the sent items of the account it was impersonating.

When sending from a shared mailbox, even "sent from the shared mailbox" option in your drop down menu of "From", sent mail by default shows up in the senders sent folder....not the sent folder of the shared mailbox.
A shared mailbox is "not licensed" thus not able to be added to Outlook as a fully functional mailbox. You basically just get "read rights".

If there is a need to have emails sent by someone with rights to a shared mailbox...to show up in that shared mailboxes sent items, I have read there is a powershell command you can run which can "copy" a sent email...into the sent folder of the shared mailbox.
