Solution: ordered the Logitech MX Master 3 business mouse and the Logitech MX Keys full-size keyboard. Chose the business versions because they come with a Bolt receiver instead of a unifying receiver. Should perform better, hopefully. Will report back on whether I decide to keep them.

Love the keyboard on my Lenovo Legion 5 Pro. Would love to have an external wireless version. Would love it to have backlighting.

I am currently using a cheap Logitech K270 wireless keyboard. I find it much more difficult to use than the laptop. I am not using the laptop now as it needs repairs under warranty.

I once bought a few mechanical keyboards from Walmart to test and found that I have a hard time typing accurately with them.

I type with great ease with the Legion's keyboard.

A thinkpad keyboard would be sweet, but the dang Fn key is where the Ctrl key should be. Would have to somehow remap the keys - maybe.

This one reminds me of my laptop:

This looks really sweet:

Edit:

Wow, I can get myself an MX Master 3 business mouse and MX Key business keyboard with Bolt receiver for $139 at Amazon. They currently have a 40% off promotion ($80 max in savings).

The Logi MX-518 remains my mouse of choice for everything but I can't haven't found a keyboard I like for gaming. I'm currently using a cheap Mafiti gaming keyboard. I like the full height backlit keys but it's nothing special (did I mention cheap - heh?)

I get by just fine with my Razer Blackwidow at home. I used it with my Legion 5 and currently with my desktop. I don't mind wireless mice too much but a wireless keyboard seems a waste unless it's frequently moving. Makes more sense for the mouse since there is no cord to whip around. I don't want to have to deal with batteries that much especially for a backlit keyboard.

I like the wireless keyboard as it keeps the desk looking more tidy. That MX Keys keyboard I am interested in only last 5 days with the backlighting on. It lasts up to 5 months with it off. It's rechargeable. Can keep it plugged in at all times then no worries about the battery. Wonder if connected to a PC via the charging cable if it will communicate with the PC via the cable.

A wired mouse would be awful. Haven't had one of those since maybe early 2000s.

I remember that I bought the first [wireless] laser mouse:

Logitech introduced the first consumer-marketed laser mouse, the MX1000, in 2004. Until then, optical mice relied on LEDs for surface illumination and tracking. Using a laser allowed mice to be much more responsive and resilient on various surfaces.

I have a Dell AT101W sadly I broke a key a little when removing them for cleaning and a couple switches need some love.

You say no cable keeps the desk tidy then say you could leave it plugged in all the time....doesn't that defeat the purpose?

All my keyboards and mice at work were wired. I had different keyboard and mouse on both my computers I used. Used various different keyboards and mice when working on customers computers in the bench. Not to mention onsite. I'm just not that picky on keyboard and mice I guess. My most preferred keyboard at work were the full size Lenovo keyboard that come with ThinkCentres. Second would be the Dell full size keyboard that came with Dells around the mid to late 2000s. Sk8115. I had 5 of them for my "main" bench set but didn't have matching mice for all 5. When I exhausted those on my bench it was random after that.

Ordered the MX Master 3 business mouse and the MX Keys business keyboard (full size).

Bought with Amazon Business and used a promotion to get $80 off. Paid nearly $139 out-the-door. Awesome!!

I already own the MX Master 3, but I am sick of the occasional lag it experiences. I have lag issues with every wireless Logitech mouse and keyboard I have. The nano receiver has to be very close. Reading and writing data on a flash drive will cause stuttering. So annoying.

These two business products come with the fancy new Bolt receiver instead of the unifying receiver. I am hoping it will work much better as it uses different technology (low power Bluetooth).

The design of the MX Keys key caps are different. Hope they keyboard works well for me. Will come back and let you know what I think.

For now, I switched from using a wireless K270 to a wired K120 (same product, just wired) because the K270 keeps messing up my typing - will sometimes not register key presses.
