Good morning, I am in the process of backing up and reloading a mac book pro. The user uses mac mail and has a few apps my question is if I use time machine to back up the system will it back up the app's and setting for mac mail and the keychain? Also, my other concern, if I use time machine, is it possible that it will bring back the problem that making the system run so slow? Or is there a better way to go about this?

Have you run any hardware and software tests on it? How do you know that you need to format and reinstall?

The system has was configure with an mdm from a previous employer, I tried to clean it up but the user still gets pop up of security setting trying to connect but fail. I was thinking this would be a quick way to avoid a clean up of settings. I am in the process of running hardware test

mdm?

What mdm solution? Those are just profiles and should be easy to get rid of if you have a user that is root level. Did you try a new user account to see what happens. Sometimes there's stuff in the profile that causes issue. My MBA had that.
