I have a small Estate Agents who run a small workgroup of computers from WinXP to Win7.

They would like to install some form of economic shared calender system.

They do not have any form of exchange server system, so sharing Outlook calenders via this method is not an option.

Has anyone come across a package that is both reasonably priced and is low on maintenance that may be suitable for installing in a small workgroup environment.

We use Google calendar. You have a master account that owns the calendar and then add as many users as you want that have the ability to add/edit/delete on the calendar. They can use their existing email accounts to create Google accounts that can access the calendar. Works like a charm and if they use Google calendar for their personal needs they can then overlay the group calendar.

Google Calendar or Windows Live.
I don't use Windows live but it is an easy way if the users have an account already.
Good luck on educating them.

Thanks for your feedback guys - I have had a look at Time & Chaos as recommended by itmgr - Looks very good @ about $50 US. I'm not sure that the company would want to use a Web-based application produced by Google, but I will put forward all of your suggestions.

Thanks again.

Have you considered hosted Exchange? You can find some pretty inexpensive plans out there and you get a whole lot more than simply shared calendars in the process. Certainly worth a look if they want to continue to use Outlook as their primary email/calendar tool.

Thanks Randy - I will certainly pass this recommendation to the company.

I would look at group-office it may fit the bill.
it has calendar, email, crm, files, etc ..
you can get a server version or hosted. for low maintenaince choose hosted.

We use WebCalendar, which is a PHP application that runs on a web server. It's one of the default calendar applications included in Fantastico for CPanel.

You can also manually install it into a subdirectory on your existing website.

We have a PC in our office connected to a 32-inch LCD that is wall-mounted. It runs a web browser in full-screen mode that is always pointed to the WebCalendar, and in the WebCalendar options we have it set to refresh automatically every 60 seconds.
