Good Morning:
Last night I watched Star Trek Discovery after waiting many years for a new Star Trek, and it was okay at best. What really got me was that they completely redesigned the Klingons again.
While they are apparently afraid to "Boldly Go" into the future, which is what Star Trek is all about, they launched another Prequel similar to Enterprise before the Original Series, yet everything seems way more advanced than in Enterprise or even TNG. It seems set in JJ Adams Movies timeframe and over-done.
None the less apparently in something like 188 countries it is available on Netflix free of charge with it being unavailable ONLY in the United States and Canada. Here we have to buy CBS All Access, another streaming service, and all for one (1) show.
Okay, so I pay my $5.99 which isn't much except that for $9.99 I get a much bigger selection on Netflix. I buy the "limited commercial" version figuring two to three ads aren't going to be a problem. I watch the first episode, and CBS shows 33 commercials! That is NOT limited.
Then I realized episode two is also released, so I am going to watch that. I figure no way am I going to watch the ads, so I upgrade to the Commercial-Free version, which is $4 more. I figure I am tried and want to go to work... that I don't have time to watch 33 commercials in a 45 minute show. They then proceeded to STILL show commercials - I saw four (4) commercials!
I must say, I am frustrated with CBS at this point, and Discovery is well... Okay.
