A customer brought me a Surface Book that is showing almost no signs of life. It was put to sleep and never woke up. No lights on keyboard, nothing on screen... just nothing at all

Here's what I've done so far:
  • Charge from port on the side of the keyboard - Light on charger stays on solid.
  • Manaully detach keyboard with paperclip in 6th hole (both sides).
  • Plug charger into screen port directly. - Light on charger stays on solid.
  • Hold Power for 30+ seconds. (This is supposed to reset it.... Nothing)
  • Hold Power and Volume+ for at least a minute. (To Reset BIOS)... Repeat several times.
  • Bang head on desk - still nothing
Yes I know it's a Surface, and I'm not intending on opening it up,but I thought there might be something I could do. Any ideas?

Not really you need to open it up and test continuity on the DC input. They are a real beast to take apart as well, if you have not done it before don't. One cannot even test the charger with a multi-meter without destroying the charger, wow. Otherwise I would say "He's dead Jim!" Or get the customer to contact MS themselves about the issue.

Did find this which you have done but stated VERY LONG..

power+volume + and hold it really really long
turns on, boots to uefi, select exit and reboot

I don't waste a minute diagnosing or attempting to repair Surface notebooks, because they are so easily damaged and virtually unrepairable anyway. I just tell them to contact MS and see if they will repair it, but basically, it's an expensive disposable notebook. I can waste my time more productively on other jobs, with much lower risk of it costing me money for even trying.
