BitDefender Bootable --virus removal
Chntpw (nt password tool)
ERD Recovery (ERD commander)
gParted --hdd /partition tool
Ophcrack --windows pw cracking
Passware-enterprise --windows password removal
Plopboot --boot utility
Super Grub boot disc --boot utility
Trinity Rescue Toolkit --like hirens
Ubuntu live cd --for hdd access or when I just need a raw terminal

These days I seem to get by with gparted, a Windows 8 recovery disk, a Kaspersky rescue disk, and a Bootable OS X external hard drive, plus D7 on a flash drive. If I can't do what I need with these, I pull the drive and pop it in the bench machine.

I've been considering just building my own distro... or at the very least an all in one disk that'll boot up what I need.

A lot of tools are nice but only a few are something you'll reach for often.

memtest86+
Kaspersky rescue disk/usb
Offline password registry editor
hitman pro Kickstart
Windows Defender Offline whatever they hell they call it now....

Isnt there a list of these somewhere else ?

99% of the time I rely on:

-Ultimate Boot CD
-Parted Magic...which is included in UBCD

Parted Magic is my favourite tool, UBCD offering some nice stuff like Offline NT Password Reset which I am very quick at using now.

My Easy2Boot drive has the following:

MemTest
Hirens 13 Restored
Falcon 4.5
offlineNT
konboot (never use, though)
lxle
manjaro
parted magic
kaspersky w/ persistence
boot-repair-disk

And then the same drive has all my non-bootable tools too, D7, all my ketarin apps, my custom scripts, etc.

I use YUMI

I had a spare 32G usb, so used YUMI and just flooded it with stuff http://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multiboot-usb-creator/

I tend to use the most:
GParted
Memtest86+
kon boot and Ophcrack when needed
Hiren's Boot CD for various tools, sometimes UBCD.. depends.
Linux off a stick.. mainly Xubuntu is my favorite, sometimes Slax for trasnfering files in a corrupted windows state too.
Clonezilla (Backup + Clone Tool)
