Uninstalling Norton 360 - BSOD

Hi all,

Has anybody had a BSOD whehn uninstalling Norton 360? I have a Acer Aspire 5532 which has come with Norton 360 pre-installed. I'm trying to uninstall and install another AV for the client but everytime I uninstall Norton and reboot I receive a BSOD reporting the ndis.sys as the issue. I boot into recovery partition and restore and all is fine until I uninstall Norton and reboot again?

I have tried using the Norton Removal tool.

What I do notice is that if I disable the wireless adapter in safe mode, the laptop will boot up successfully until i re-enable the adapter, then I get another BSOD!

Driving me mad!

there was a post a few days ago about a hidden device installed by AVG that was making things difficult.

maybe something like that is hanging the system.
perhaps the BSOD is because it can't load the driver or whatnot.

Yup sounds reasonable, NDIS backs that up.

Are you using the norton removal tool?
