Aloha everyone. I've got an Acer laptop that won't boot. I want to wipe it and do a fresh Windows install, but I can't get my Win10 install USB to boot. I built the USB using Rufus 3.13, and when the drive was finished formatting and copying files, there was a message that I have to turn off Secure Boot to be able to use it. When I go into the Acer's BIOS, there is no way turn off Secure Boot. I've seen this before and a BIOS update resolved the problem, but since the system won't boot, how can I update the BIOS? I have a dim memory of doing a BIOS upgrade from WinPE (I use Gandalph's if it makes any difference), but I'm hesitant to try this.
Any opinions on whether or not you can update BIOS from WinPE?
Mahalo,
Harry Z
