UVK and Tech Tool Store: Product updates

As promised, I'm creating this topic to tell you about the most important updates in my products. If you guys have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask them in a reply to this topic.

In this first post I'm going to list the best features added in this year or so.

UVK:

• Tweaked the UI in the Home page, adding more buttons pointing to the most important modules recently added.
• Added Disk cloning built in support with the DiskCopy application and script.
• Added Disk monitoring support with Clear Disk Info (external license required)
• Added new UI themes
• Added tweaks: Enable old Explorer ribbon on Windows 11, Enable old Explorer menus on Windows 11, Disable transparency effects
• Added support for driver backup and reset (backup and reset all drivers).
• Added support for Windows 11 upgrade/reinstall and install media creation.

Tech Tool Store:

1. Added support for downloads bigger than 4GB.
2. Improved download speed.
3. Added these groups to the list: Storage Device tools, Online tutorials, Essential apps from the store, Ransomware decryptors and tools, and Windows and Office install.
4. Added support for easily updating the installed apps (Check all installed apps list menu)
5. Improved the UI with an optional light theme.
6. Added many tools, including:

• balenaEtcher, to Storage device tools
• Unlocker Install, to Important updates
• CamStudio Install, to Important updates
• WinSetupFromUSB, to Storage device tools
• Windows 11 install media creator, to Windows and Office Install

Hi guys, I've got some updates on UVK and Tech Tool Store today. Sould hav been a few days ago when I updated UVK to version 11.8, sorry about that.

UVK 11.8, 11.8.1

• Fixed a critical bug in the Threat scanner that was causing some computers running Windows 11 to blue screen after reboot.
• Updated DiskCopy with the latest version' which has a Utilities tab with tons of Disk/Partition management tools.
• Added a new button to the Home screen named Health Check. This new module lets you take a quick peek into your computer's health status, and also provides quick fixes and instructions for common issues.
• Bug fixes and definition updates.

Tech Tool Store 8.3.9

• Added many different download sources to the existing tools that you can use on your personal tools. Check them out on Create similar tool.
• Added Microsoft Office uninstaller, to System maintenance tools
• Added DiskGenius, to Storage device tools
• Added Microsoft PowerToys, to System tweaking tools
• Added ThrottleStop, to System tweaking tools
• Added Everything, to System monitoring tools
• Added RuckZuck, to System maintenance tools

Despite being on version 1.1.1, DiskCopy is still Beta. I was hoping to get some feedback before releasing it as Stable.

Got a new UVK update for you guys.

11.9.0.0 Release date: January 16 2023

• Added two customizable buttons to the Home screen. Each button behaves the same way as Custom third party apps, in the System repair module. They can download one or two files and execute up to four commands. This is a cloud synced feature.
• Updated Clear Disk Info and WAU Manager with their latest versions.
• Bug fixes and definition updates.

Hi, a new build was released yesterday with some new features.

v11.9.2 Release date: January 30 2023

• Added support for UVK script tags on third party apps' commands. All single line tags such as <ResetSecuritySettings>, or <UpdateChrome> are supported. This feature was added to both System repair and Home screen custom apps.
• Fixed bug: the Optimize all drives fix was not working.
• Updated DiskCopy with its latest version, which fixes the bug: Make disk bootable was not working for MBR disks (Utilities tab)..
• Added support for 17 more custom apps in the Home page. All of these custom apps can be exported to UVKSettings.ini and syncronized through CloudSync.
• Added a new option to permanently disable the Hybrid shutdown warning. This new option can be exported to UVKSettings.ini and cloud synced.
• Added a new fix to the System Repair module's list; Reset all print jobs): This fix cancels all print jobs, for all the printers currently installed.
• Definition updates.
• Bug fixes and code improvements.

Hi guys, sorry I forgot to post about the last update a few days ago. Here it is:

v11.9.3 Release date: February 06 2023

• Updated the threat scanner to the latest version which inludes adding the ability to customize the aggressivity of the Threat scanner. Users can select one of three aggressivity levels:

1. Soft - Lower detection rate, but very few false positives
2. Medium - A combination of good detection rate and few false positives (default).
3. Aggressive - Very good detection rate but there may be more false positives.

To control this feature from the threat scanner, go to Menu >> Malware detection settings.

• Added support for setting the malware scan's aggressivity from the Options module, Malware scan tab. This feature can be exported to UVKSettings.ini and cloud sync'd.
• Added two options to the SFX package creator: Include your branding logo and icon, and Include your license file (key.uvkey). The previous option to include both the license key and logo was removed. This gives users more control on what to include in their SFX package.
• Also added support for two more command line switches that let you automatically start a scan with the desired aggressivity level: /Soft and /Aggressive. If neither is specified, the Medium aggressivity level is used..
• Fixed bug: Home screen extra apps could not be edited.
• Definition updates, bug fixes and code improvements.

Hi everyone. I've got a new UVK update for you guys which I released yesterday. This build adds a new useful tweak, and also introduces teaking through UVK scripts. Here's the change log:

v11.9.4 Release date: February 21 2023

• Added support for changing the text of the 'More custom apps' button in the Home screen, by right-clicking the button and selecting 'Edit this button's name'. This setting can be exported to UVKSettings.ini and to CloudSync. This feature was requested.
• Added a new tweak to the 'Tools and tweaks' module, Registry tweaks tab: Disable Office saving to OneDrive. This tweak removes/restores the OneDrive saving location on any version of Microsoft Office installed.
• All the tweaks from the 'Tools and tweaks' module (Registry tweaks tab), can now be applied through a UVK script. More than 100 single-line command tags were added in order to support applying or removing each of the tweaks. See the tweaks list here. Because script tags can be used as custom apps' commands, you can now easily create custom apps that apply up to four tweaks at once.
• Updated the Log Analyzer with support for inserting the Tweaks' tags mentioned above.
• Disabled automatic updates for non licensed users. All users can stil update from Options >> Utilities tab.
• Definition updates, bug fixes and code improvements.

I've got a new UVK update for you guys.

v11.9.5 Release date: March 05 2023

• Added a new button to the Reporting module named Add a note. This new option lets you quickly write a text note that will be added to the report zip archive. This feature will soon be extended to other modules.
• Added support for a new scripting command: <SetTechPowerSettings>. This new command optimizes the current power scheme settings so the computer will not enter sleep mode automatically. Also, closing the laptop's lid does nothing, hard drives and displays are always on, the display is dimmed after 5 minutes.
• Added support for a new scripting command:<ResetPowerSettings>. This new command applies the following settings for the current power scheme: Close lid action: Sleep. HDD power off and sleep timeout: 30 min. Dim display timeout: 5 min. Display power off: 20 min.
• The new scripting commands above are both single line commands, so they can be used not only in UVK scripts, but also as third party app commands (System repair), or custom apps' commands (Home module).
• Added support for multiple scripting tags in third party app commands (System repair), or custom apps' commands (Home module), separated by ||| (three bertical bars). Example for a command: <FixInstallProblems>|||<FixWinStoreApps>|||<RestartWindowsShell>
• Updated DiskCopy with the newest version.
• Definition updates, bug fixes and code improvements.

• Fixed bug: The application was hunging when sending information to VirusTotal.
• Added a new System Repair item to the Essential installs/Updates group: Install AdBlock Plus for Chrome. This fix opens Chrome on the web page that installs AdBlock Plus. You still need to click 'Add to Chrome' to install the extension. Also added a new scripting command that lets you run this fix from a UVK script: <InstallAdBlockPlusChrome>.
• Added a new System Repair item to the Essential installs/Updates group: Install AdBlock Plus for Firefox. This fix opens Chrome on the web page that installs AdBlock Plus. You still need to click 'Add to Firefox ' to install the extension. Also added a new scripting command that lets you run this fix from a UVK script: <InstallAdBlockPlusFirefox>.
• Added a new System Repair item to the Essential installs/Updates group: Install AdBlock Plus for Edge. This fix opens Chrome on the web page that installs AdBlock Plus. You still need to click 'Add to Edge' to install the extension. Also added a new scripting command that lets you run this fix from a UVK script: <InstallAdBlockPlusEdge>.
• Added a new System Repair item to the Essential installs/Updates group: Install Natural Landscapes 3 theme. This fix installs the beautiful 'Natural Landscapes 3' Windows theme, from Community Showcase. Also added a new scripting command that lets you run this fix from a UVK script: <InstallThemeNaturalLandscapes3>.
• Added a new System Repair item to the Essential installs/Updates group: Install Waterfalls theme. This fix installs the beautiful Windows theme 'Waterfalls', downloaded directly from Microsoft. Also added a new scripting command that lets you run this fix from a UVK script: <InstallThemeWaterfalls>.
• Added a new System Repair item to the System repair and optimization group: Hardware temperature test. This fix runs StressMyPC and HWMonitor simmultaneously, which lets you easily check whether your CPU, graphics card and storage devices are overheating. Also added a new scripting command that lets you run this fix from a UVK script: <HardwareTemperatureTest>.
• Added a new System Repair item to the System repair and optimization group: Camera test. This fix runs the Windows 'Camera' app, which lets you easily check whether your attached cameras are working properly. Also added a new scripting command that lets you run this fix from a UVK script: <CameraTest>.
• Definition updates, bug fixes and code improvements.

Interested in your reasoning for using AdBlock Plus. Wouldn't uBlock Origin be a better choice?

Agree fully. I gave up Adblock plus a long time ago when they started allowing some ad's by default.

They could get quite invasive if the default option was left on. Almost pointless having an "ad blocker."

I had quite a lot of clients using FakeBook, Instascam etc that couldn't believe what a difference uBlock Origin made.

My preferred browser; Librewolf, comes with uBlock built in.
