It was too good to last.
I've been using UVNC SC to remote into XP machines but I'm finding the connection gets dropped on Win7 and some Vista machines as soon as the UAC prompt pops up, after which the connection can't be re-established.
Any other SC users have suggestions /workarounds?
I thought it was an encryption issue at first but that side of things seems to be OK.
Yup, there are other programs available but I like this one.
Thanks.

it is a bug that has not been fixed yet. the next version should have the fix.

you can download already patched versions of the regular release but not for the SC I believe.

Take a look into ChunkVNC that has the fixed version.

You still can't click on the UAC prompts though, it needs to be installed as a service for that to work.

The bug has been fixed go get the new version of uvnc but you also have to create new single click executable too. I also put a line of code in the txt file when create the SC client that automatically disables UAC on the customers computer during connection so the UAC prompt doesn't pop up and the customer doesn't have to stay right in front of the computer.

I'm using uvnc 1.0.8.2, in the helpdesk.txt file put [DIS_UAC] including the brackets on the first line, not sure if that matters but that's where I have mine.

I'm guessing that this would be because of the "Secure Desktop" that is activated when the UAC prompt is presented, i know in windows 7 you can actually disable it and there are hacks in vista for it but sounds like you guys have fixed it, just a bit of info.

You are right.

The bug happens because VNC tries to capture the desktop, and it doesn't have access. Assuming the desktop went away, it disconects and closes instead of waiting for it.

and Thank you JRD. I will have to give that a try.
